A little chipped, but not fully cracked

I am a chip off the block.
I have my mom's smile and her wacky sense of humor where I do goofy, odd things just to make my friends and family laugh out loud.
I'm not really sure when Mom got this set of china. It might have been in the 90s after I'd left home, and they had a little more disposable income. What I do know is that for many years it was tucked away safely on a top shelf in a kitchen cabinet, coming out only for a holiday or two.
This china was one of the few items salvaged from a house and it made it to the new cabinets, which were within easy reach of 5' 2" me. One of the first times I had coffee in the new house I saw this cup and it became "my" cup every time I was there. It may have had a chip on the rim this entire time, I don't remember.
I'm ok with that regardless - I know that having a chip - or being a chip - is a sign of being well-loved.
